Summer is a popular time to move; however, the heat in the summer can make summer moving a little difficult. Luckily, there are numerous things you can do to beat the heat and make your summer move comfortable.

Pack Up Boxes Light

Don't stress yourself out more than you need to by packing big, heavy boxes. Pack your belongings up in small, light boxes as much as you possible can. Of course, use bigger boxes where appropriate for larger items. Even then, don't load up the box. Pack the large item in a large box, and fill the space around it with crumbled newspaper or packing peanuts; don't stuff as many items as possible into the box. Keeping your boxes as light as possible will make it easier to move your boxes.

Have Everything Ready To Go

On moving day, you should have everything ready to go. All of your boxes should be packed up. There should be no last-minute packing happening. Ideally, you'll be able to sleep at a motel or a friend's house the night before so that even your bedding, clothing, and toiletries are packed up. If possible, see if you can transport the items in your fridge and freezer to your new house the day before your official moving day with all the big moving trucks.

Start Early

Get as early a start as you can on your moving day. The sooner you begin, the sooner your move will be over. Just keep in mind noise ordinances in your neighborhood. If you start moving your belongings out of your house at six in the morning, make sure that you are as quiet as you can be. Getting an early start will allow you to beat the heat. With an early start, hopefully you'll be finishing up your moving day before the heat of the day hits.

Have Two Coolers Ready to Go

Have a cooler at your new home and your old home filled up with ice, water, sports drinks, and a few snacks. Let anyone who is helping you move know that they are more than welcome to grab a drink and a snack out of the cooler. When moving, even with an early start, it is important to stay well hydrated. You don't want someone passing out from heat stroke or getting dehydrated during the moving process.

Make your summer move go smoother by packing up a lot of smaller, lighter boxes. Have everything packed up and ready to go so when your moving day starts nice and early, you can get started right away. Have two coolers ready to go at both moving sites with drinks and snacks to help keep everyone hydrated and energized. Contact local movers for more information.
